One of Tane’s Favorite Memories…
“I gave a keynote to an audience of legislative policy aids. It was my typical thing of talking about how the tenets of improv (listening, collaboration, and creativity) can help improve almost any group work —particularly with people with different skills or ways of operating. I was warned ahead of time that this was a rather serious group that liked to sit quietly and take notes.
I spoke to them for about 50 minutes. In that time, they did take lots of notes from the research I referenced in my slides. I was also able to get them ALL up on their feet to actually try some improv exercises with the people around them.
The whole room was laughing and playing together, which I then tied back to the notion of working together healthily and safely. When I came off stage, the event organizer (a veteran legislative staffer from Colorado) initially didn't say anything. She just came up and hugged me.”
