Bridging Communities Through Laughter and Conversation

At Danger Boat Productions, we believe comedy can do more than entertain—it can inform, connect, and spark conversations that matter. That’s why we’re thrilled to be featured in Current as part of Twin Cities PBS’ (TPT) initiative to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Our Sketches of Minnesota project, originally developed with the Minnesota Humanities Center, takes our signature approach—improv inspired by civic dialogue—on the road. We’re visiting communities across the state, listening to their stories, exploring shared values, and then bringing those perspectives to life on stage through comedy.

Imagine a Saturday Night Live sketch, but every scene is rooted in the real experiences, quirks, and challenges of Minnesota towns. From policy discussions to the heart of small-town identity, this is storytelling that entertains and enlightens.

Thanks to TPT’s support, we’re expanding this initiative to reach even more people, creating space for laughter, dialogue, and deeper understanding. We also plan to film performances so these powerful conversations can reach beyond the stage.

We’re honored to contribute to TPT’s "mosaic of storytelling", and we can’t wait to see how Sketches of Minnesota continues to evolve.

If you believe in the power of comedy to bridge divides, let’s connect. Follow along as we bring more communities into the conversation—one sketch at a time.
