Applications Open -Sketches of Minnesota 2025
Applications are now open for communities to host the 2025 Sketches of Minnesota tour — a civic comedy experience created in partnership between the Minnesota Humanities Center and Danger Boat Productions, the brilliant minds behind The Theater of Public Policy.
If you’re unfamiliar with Sketches of Minnesota, imagine this: professional improvisers gather stories from your community — your quirks, hopes, tensions, and pride — and turn it all into a heartfelt, hilarious stage performance. It’s comedy with a civic twist.
Each show is custom-built for the community it represents. Through community conversations, the creative team at Danger Boat finds the heartbeat of your town. Then they amplify it with humor, insight, and a whole lot of joy.
We’ve seen packed houses, standing ovations, and — most importantly — neighbors hearing each other in new ways.
We’re looking for communities ready to:
Host a free, public show
Partner in gathering stories and voices
Celebrate what makes them unique
