Sketches of Minnesota

Danger Boat Production in partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center

Casting: Danger Boat Productions is seeking to put together a cast of talented, empathetic, diverse, and committed non-union* improvisers/actors.

About the Project: At 10 locations across Minnesota, the cast will participate in a facilitated community listening session where residents will share stories and reflections of their city or town. The cast will bring to life what they heard in those conversations through improv. Elements of each show will be refined into a scripted comedy show showcasing stories from all locations.

This project requires a high level of empathy and understanding. The improv will be inspired by community conversations. What is discussed may be at odds with what a cast member personally believes. Understanding that and authentically reflecting the voices of the community is one of the artistic challenges of this project.
