Museums are some of the most trusted institutions in our country, so what happens when they deliberately lie to you?
We created a custom tour for the Minneapolis Institute of Arts that played with the truthful reputation of museums. Teaming up with curators from different departments, we guided patrons from gallery to gallery and spun fantastic stories about different works and period rooms.
At each stop, guests heard two unbelievable stories about an object. One story was an amazing tale and the other was complete nonsense. Museum goers were asked to choose between the different stories and compete against others. It was a tour that had people listening intently to the details and debating among each other in a way they wouldn't if they had just been given the facts.
